This trek in the region of Everest is one of the great classics in Nepal. Without presenting major difficulties, however, it is aimed at enduring walkers. The splendid view of the giants that line the Kumbu Glacier is a great reward for sustained efforts for several days of approach. It is also a long hike in the heart of Sherpa country. They came from the Tibetan plateaus by passes and settled in this valley by imprinting their culture, their architecture, and their legendary resistance to extreme conditions.
